Back Up App Data:
- Tap “Apps” on the home screen
- Open “Settings”
- Tap “Backup and reset” under “Personal”
- Select an account or tap “Google account” > “Add account” and sign in with your Google account
- Enable “Back up my data” and “Backup account”
Back Up Contacts on a Google or HTC Account:
- First make sure the device is connected to an active Wi-Fi network
- Tap “Apps” on the home screen
- Open “Settings” and tap “Backup and reset” under “Personal”
- Select “HTC Account” or “Google Account”
- To allow your device to perform automatic daily backups over Wi-Fi, enable “Automatic backup”
- To back up contacts manually, tap “Back up now”
Back Up Media Files on a Windows PC:
- Connect the HTC Desire 650 to your computer via USB
- Turn on “File Transfer (MTP)” / “Media device (MTP)” when prompted or from the “Notification” area
- Open the File Explorer on the computer and locate the media files on the phone storage
- Copy the files and transfer them in the desired backup location on the computer
- Once the transfer is complete, eject the phone storage via system tray
- You can now safely disconnect the phone from the USB cord
Back Up Media Files on a Mac Computer:
- Connect the HTC phone to your Mac via USB
- Enable “File Transfer (MTP)” / “Media device (MTP)” when prompted or from the “Notification” area
- Launch the File Finder on the Mac and locate the media files on the phone storage
- Copy the files and paste them in the desired backup location on the phone storage
- Once the transfer is done, drag the phone’s virtual drive from the desktop and drop it into the “Trash can” to eject it
- You can now safely disconnect the phone from the USB cord
