    Yesterday, I stayed up all night to update the firmware on my i730 to
    the said version above. Even though I was able to successfully apply
    the update, I have a bad feeling that the phone might be corrupt
    software-wise mainly because the computer froze up on me at times
    throughout the update. Do you think I should have my phone checked by a
    Nextel Software Specialist to see if my observations are true?

    I've heard of this happening on slower computer systems. What type of
    computer were you doing the update on? Also, were you using a serial or usb
    data cable?

    If the phone is working fine, then you shouldn't have any problems. If you
    have Nextel Service/Repair Plan on your account ($2.50/month per phone) then
    you don't have anything to worry about. If and when the phone fails, just
    take it in and have them replace/swap it out for you.

    I've heard of this happening on slower computer systems. What type of
    computer were you doing the update on? Also, were you using a serial or usb
    data cable?

    If the phone is working fine, then you shouldn't have any problems. If you
    have Nextel Service/Repair Plan on your account ($2.50/month per phone) then
    you don't have anything to worry about. If and when the phone fails, just
    take it in and have them replace/swap it out for you.

    AMD Athlon XP 2000+, 512MB PC2100 DDR SDRAM, 74.4GB Hard Disk Drive,
    Custom-made system with Windows XP Professional Installed. I also have
    a Router, Cable Modem, Ethernet NIC Card, and several USB Devices

    I brought this up to a Nextel-Owned Store at Woodridge. I *do* have the
    Nextel Service/Repair Plan on my sole Nextel Phone (a guy at Woodridge
    recommended this for me). Here is the information regarding about my

    Engine is working or not. Other "things" inside my phone is working

    working fine, music tones are working fine, the SIM Card in my phone is
    untampered.

    Don't know if any other problems exist on my phone...

    ....just curious, what's the latest version of firmware supposed to
    correct/do/enhance?

    If your phone had corrupt software it would say self check fail when you
    turn it on.
    If you havent noticed any problems dont sweat it.
