Does anyone know if the Nokia 6250 is still in production? I can't tell
either way from the website, but have noticed they are showing it in extra
colours which I never knew were available.
If not is there any phone in existance at all that is even vaguely
comparable for toughness + waterproofness.
(waterproofness == really waterproof, not just water resistant)

Ok that's disapointing. I'd like an upgrade to something that supports
Gprs, bluetooth etc but still be waterproof but that doesn't seem likely.
And yes the 6250 is really waterproof, not just splashproof, mine has been
in
The sea, rivers, jugs of beer, etc and its still working fine.

Why does the phone itself have to be waterproof..? Can't you get some sort
of waterproof case..? I know that there are waterproof cases available for
marine handportable radios, maybe someone makes them for phones..?
Just a thought..

They do exist, I saw a poster for them in a phone shop a few days, someone
using the phone in the sea (so now there is no escape from them!)
I think was Nokia but I am not sure.
The ad was in Jakarta or Bangkok, maybe the product is new in SE Asia.

The trick now is to learn to talk underwater, my wife can do it.

You'll be lucky to get much coverage though. Water tends to attenuate
the signal's used by mobile phones quite a bit...
