I have an old AT&T rate plan from when they first introduced GSM. It must be seven or eight years ago. On a recent trip, my phone was lost and so was my (old) SIM card. I called ATT and they are telling me I have to migrate to a new plan and SIM. This means I will lose my unlimited calling every month that costs $100.
Any suggestions on what I can do? Thanks.
Eric

If I buy an old ATT Sim card, will the sim card work in "any" unlocked phone?

Re: Old ATT Sim Card - What to do?
So I bought a new SIM card for the old AT&T network, called AT&T Customer Care and tried to activate the new SIM in my Treo. It did not work. After being on the phone for two hours and talking to five different people, I was told I had not choice but to migrate over to the new network.
I said I wanted to keep my old plan yada yada yada but they said everyone on the old service would have to change by the end of February. Gave me this song and dance that the gov't was forcing ALL mobile phone companies to get there networks and customers up to par.
They were not willing to give me a "bone" or anything else to migrate. There were no special offers. If they had given me something to reward me for being a customer for seven years, I would have migrated.
Any suggestions for me to keep my old plan?
If I go with a new Blackberry 8820, it will cost me $300 thru AT&T.
If I go with a new Blackberry 8820 thru Let's Talk Wireless, it will cost $150.
Seems like current customers get shafted. They only care about NEW customers.
Any thoughts?

Re: Old ATT Sim Card - What to do?
have you ever looked and seen how many minutes you actually use? I used to work for at&t when people had this plan and they usually never exceeded 700-800 minutes a month. If that's the case, why not switch to a lower plan with rollover?
