Ok, so I've been using Cakewalk Pro Audio 9 for years now, and I'd say that I'm a but reluctant to get the new 'cakewalk' known as 'Sonar'. I just want your opinions about. Where did you get it? How much did you pay for it? But most importantly, is it any good? Please tell me what you think of it, I really want to know what other people think of it.

Been using Cakewalk since the DOS days! Had "9" until about a year or so ago and opted for Sonar XL 2.0. ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT! Well worth the $$. Not too big a change, so you can pretty much "plug N play" with your knowledge of "9". In my opinion, they kept all the good stuff, and fixed anything that was annoying. Gotta love Cakewalk

P.S. I think Registered Cakewalk users can get it for a discount.

I Use Sonar XL 2.0. I started out using Home Studio, then Pro Audio 9, now Sonar XL. I love it If you are familiar with Pro Audio the migration will almost be seemless. If you spend another afternoon to learn all the new features, you will be amazed at the capabilities of the all the plugins, DXi, and Rewire. I cant say enough about how much better Sonar is than Pro Audio 9. I think its well worth the money. The added polyphony and sounds of the softsynths alone are worth the price considering what a new board or rack module would have cost.
