RIM finally officially announces the BlackBerry Curve 9220. Of course this official announcement comes after the device's specs were leaked out in March. The first market that will end up with the BlackBerry Curve 9220 is India.

Features of the BlackBerry Curve 9220 include the following: access to RIM’s BBM service, social networking integration, a 2.44″ 320×240 screen, a 2 MP fixed focus camera with video recording, optical trackpad, 512 MB of ROM, 512 MB of RAM, microSD card support, Wi-Fi and a 1,450 mAh battery with 18 days of standby time, 7 hours of talking, or 28 hours of listening to music.

One bad thing...The BlackBerry Curve 9220 will not have 3G. The BlackBerry Curve 9220 is now available in India and can be purchased for Rs.10,990 ($212).

RIM is giving a bonus for those who purchases the BlackBerry Curve 9220 before June 30 of this year....free apps, downloadable from BlackBerry App World, worth Rs. 2,500.
