LG Optimus Elite will launch on May 15 for Virgin Mobile....Pre-orders are now being taken

Tuesday, May 15, will be the day when Virgin Mobile will launch the LG Optimus Elite. Pre-orders have already begun for the device and will cost Virgin Mobile customers, $149.99 for the phone. This phone is made from at least 50% recycled plastics and will not contain any harmful materials such as PVC.

We knew that Virgin Mobile was going to launch this phone, but back in April, when first announced, we did not know the price. If the Optimus name sounds familiar, it's because this device is the successor to that of the LG Optimus S.

Features of the Virgin Mobile LG Optimus Elite will include: Android 2.3.7 Gingerbread, a 3.5-inch HVGA touchscreen, an 800 MHz processor, a 5 MP rear camera, 512 MB of RAM, 4 GB of built-in storage space, microSD card support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 3G, energy efficient charger and NFC (with Google Wallet).
