Re: So many smart phones in the market
There are probably a lot more companies that we have never heard of before making phones in other countries also. At least we have a good selection when it comes to choosing a phone.

Re: So many smart phones in the market
I didn't hear about Huawei until a few years back. There was the Huawei Ascend on Cricket Wireless, which was my first smartphone.
I'm currently with a Motorola phone.
There are a lot of brands that I don't know whether they're decent phones or not, especially if there aren't a lot of reviews. If you go with one of the other brands you can probably save a lot of money.
It's similar with the tablets. I purchased a Visual Land tablet, and it was cheaper than the larger companies, but I didn't like it enough. It didn't work good enough to do what I needed it to do. So, I then got the Nexus 7, from Google, which has been much better.
I remember when Vizio came out with the high definition televisions. I didn't think much about it, but now they are a big company and sell a lot of televisions. So, we probably shouldn't underestimate some of these companies because they might be very successful someday.
So, I guess some of the time it is good to purchase the cheaper brands and other times it isn't and is just a hassle.
What smaller companies have you purchased devices from?

Re: So many smart phones in the market
The consuming rate of smart phones are high or the uses and demands get high , so the many manufacturer come in market and manufacture smart phones. But one thing is sure, the company whose having the good services with affordable rate can win the race.

Actually my first ever smart phone was huawei ideos U8150.....this is the device that made me love android

Frankly i think the smaller companies should try and become a hit in their local environment first then go to export
I once tried purchasing a smart phone from Gtide.......Totally not worth it.....i had one of the worst experiences with battery draining....freezing touch screen.....some good amount of hang time to process commands

Re: So many smart phones in the market
I think if a company makes a good quality product, at a good price, they can really make a difference. I don't know if by "service" you're talking about customer service. If that is the case, I don't really care if there is decent customer service. There is a lot of information online, such as this forum, to get answers to questions. I would just want the company to replace the phone if it is defective and is under warranty. If the company doesn't even want to bother offering a warranty through the manufacturer, they could at least include a SquareTrade warranty. So, if the phone came with a good SquareTrade warranty, but had no manufacturer warranty or customer service (other than a forum like this one), I would be fine with it, as long as the phone was at a good price compared to the competition.
I read an article on a company "BLU" not too long ago, and it said they're trying to compete with the bigger manufacturers. The specifications look decent, although I haven't used one of their phones myself. For example, some come with a Super AMOLED screen, that we see on a lot of the high end phones, and a 1.2 Ghz dual-core processor. Maybe it isn't as high end as the Samsung Galaxy S4 with a quad core or octa core processor, but it should be good enough especially if the price is a lot lower.

Re: So many smart phones in the market
The number of new mobile phone is now just like a random number generator. Almost everyday a new mobile is releasing with exactly same face and features, There are very very very little amount of variation among them. The mobile companies must have lost all reason.
