Clear App Cache / Data:
NOTE: If one of your apps doesnt work as it should or takes too much storage space, you might be able to fix these problems by clearing the apps cache / data.
WARNING! Clearing an apps data will delete all of your personal information stored within the app, including credit card and login information, saved games, profiles, high scores etc. As such, you can try clearing the apps cache first, in order to avoid losing personal data.
- Tap Apps on the home screen
- Go to Settings
- Scroll to Device and tap Apps
- Swipe to Downloaded or All
- Select the desired app and tap Clear cache
- If needed, tap Clear data > OK to confirm
Clear Cache Partition:
NOTE: In case your phone doesnt work as intended and youre considering factory resetting it, you might be able to fix the behavior and avoid losing any of your personal data by clearing the phones cache partition.
- Turn off the device
- Press and hold Power for roughly two seconds
- Then, press and hold Volume Up (while holding Power)
- When you see the Select Boot Mode menu, release the buttons
- From the menu, make sure Recovery Mode is highlighted, then press Volume Up to select the option
- Once you see an Android next to a yellow triangle, press and release Power and Volume Up at the same time
- You should now have access to the Android System Recovery menu
- From this menu, press Volume down repeatedly to highlight wipe cache partition
- Press Power to clear the cache and reboot
NOTE: In case clearing the cache partition didnt help, you can visit this thread for instructions on how to factory reset the ZTE Axon.
Reboot to Safe Mode:
NOTE: In case you have installed a third party application that causes problems on your phone and prevents you from removing it, you should be able to uninstall the app from within Safe Mode. In this mode, all third party apps are disabled.
- Wake up the screen
- Press and hold Power
- From the pop-up menu, tap and hold Power off
- When prompted, tap OK to reboot in Safe Mode
- Wait for your phone to restart. Once done, a Safe Mode label should be visible in the lower part of the home screen
- To remove an application first access Settings
- Tap Apps
- Swipe to Downloaded and select the desired app
- Tap Uninstall > OK to confirm
- To exit safe mode, reboot your phone in normal mode, as you normally do (press and hold Power and tap Power off)
