Does anyone have any idea how Tracfone and it's multiple companies are going to address the issue of unlocking phones with the new law that was just made effective on 8/1/2014. It is now law that a provider has to unlock a phone on owners request. I sent a copy of the law to Net10 as they representative did not believe that the law has changed.

Re: Tracfone unlock requests
Right, the "Unlocking Consumer Choice and Wireless Competition Act". I assumed that any phones sold through Tracfone companies are already unlocked. Is that not the case?
According to their website they are: NET10 - FAQ
Q: Are all of the phones on net10wirelessphones.com unlocked?
A: Yes, all phones are unlocked unless stated otherwise in the phone's detailed specs.
