Transferring Contacts via iTunes:

iTunes can be used to sync the contacts saved on your iPhone with a Google account. By doing so, you can then easily transfer the contacts over to an Android device, such as the HTC Desire 516. This is a pretty easy method of contact transfer, but it does require a computer with Internet access and iTunes installed.

  1. Launch iTunes on the computer
  2. Connect the iPhone to the computer via USB
  3. Once connected, the iPhone will appear in iTunes. Click the smartphone to access the summary page
  4. Click the "Info" tab and mark the "Sync Contacts With" check box
  5. Click the drop-down menu and select "Google Contacts"
  6. Register your Google account in iTunes. Alternatively, click "Configure" and select an existing Google account from the list (assuming that you've added one prior to following this guide)
  7. Click "Apply" and wait for iTunes to sync the contacts
  8. After the syncing process has finished, register the same Google account as the one used in iTunes, on the Desire 516. (NOTE: if you need to add an account, go to "Settings" > "Accounts")
  9. Set the account so that it can sync contacts with your phone

Transferring Contacts via iCloud:

Assuming that you have used the iCloud backup service on your iPhone before following this guide, then the contacts located on your iPhone should be stored on your iCloud account as well. You can access your account using a computer with access to the Internet, and you can export the contacts for Android use, as explained below:

  1. Launch the Internet browser on the computer and visit https://www.icloud.com/
  2. Log in with your iCloud account and click "Contacts"
  3. Mark the contacts that you wish to export
  4. Click the cog-wheel icon located in the lower-left area of the screen
  5. Click "Export vCard" and a VCF file containing the selected contacts will be downloaded on your PC
  6. Import the VCF file to "Google Contacts", or connect the Desire 516 to your computer via USB and copy the VCF file to the phone's "sdcard" directory. Next up, launch the "People" app, go to the "People" tab, press "Menu" and tap "import / Export". Choose an account if necessary, and select the vCard file to load it

Transferring Contacts via "My Contacts Backup":

In case you wish to transfer your contacts without having to use a computer, you can use various third party apps such as "My Contacts Backup" to get the job done. MCB is an iOS app that can back up the contacts on your iPhone in VCF file format, and send them to an Android device via email

  3. After the file has been created, tap "Email" in order to attach the file to a new email

Transferring Contacts via "Send Anywhere":

Last but not least, you can use "Send Anywhere" to transfer the contacts from your iPhone to the HTC Desire 516. Send Anywhere is an iOS and Android app that can transfer contacts and other file types cross-platform, over a P2P connection. This method doesn't require you to have computer acces.
