Back Up to Google Drive:

  1. Access the phone’s “Settings” menu
  2. Tap “Backup & reset”
  3. Tap “Backup account” > “HTC Account”
  4. Sign in with your HTC account, or alternatively a Facebook or Google account
  5. In the “Cloud Storage” menu, tap “Google Drive” > “OK”
  6. Sign in to your Google account and access Google Drive
  7. Optionally you can enable “Automatic backup”
  8. Tap “Back up now” to manually back up data

Restore Data from Google Drive:

  1. Once your start your device for the first time (after a factory reset for example), tap “Restore from HTC Backup”
  2. Sign in with the account you used for backing up data
  3. Access the history menu and select the backup, then tap “Next”
  4. When prompted, register your Google account
  5. Allow “HTC Backup” to connect with “Google Drive”
  6. Tap “Next” to restore the files

Back Up & Restore Data Locally

Back Up Contacts:

  1. Launch “Phone” and access the tab with the same name
  2. Tap “Menu” > “Manage contacts”
  3. Tap “Import / Export contacts”
  4. Tap “Export to SD card” / “Export to phone storage”
  5. Select an account to back up data on
  6. Tap “yes” to set a password for the backup
  7. Tap “OK” to confirm

Restore Contacts:

  1. Open “Contacts”
  2. Tap “Menu” > “Manage contacts”
  3. Tap “Import / Export contacts” > “Import from phone storage” / “SD”
  4. If necessary, select an account
  5. Select the backup file and tap “OK”
  6. Assuming the backup file is protected by a password, enter it and tap “OK”

Back Up Messages:

  1. Open “Messages”
  2. Tap “Menu”
  3. Tap “Backup / Restore SMS”
  4. Tap “Back up” > “Back up SMS”
  5. Optionally set a password for the backup file and set a name
  6. Tap “OK”

Back Up Text Messages via Email:

  1. Launch “Messages”
  2. Press “Menu” > “Back up / Restore SMS”
  3. Tap “Back up” > “Back up SMS via email”
  4. Optionally you can set a password
  5. Ensure the email contains the attached backup file and send the email to your own address

NOTE: To restore contacts backed up using this method, simply open the email, download the attachment, and import it via “Messages”

Back Up / Restore Tasks:

  1. Open the “Tasks” app
  2. Tap “Menu” > “Import / Export”
  3. Tap “Export to SD card”

  1. To restore tasks, first open the app
  2. Then tap “Menu” > “Import / Export”
  3. Tap “Import from SD card”
  4. Select the backup file and follow any additional on-screen prompts that may follow

Back Up the Dictionary:

  1. Access the “Settings” menu
  2. Tap “Language & Keyboard”
  3. Tap “HTC Sense Input” > “Personal dictionary”
  4. Press “Menu” > “Back up to storage”
  5. Tap “Back up to email” > “OK”

Restore a Dictionary:

  1. Go to “Settings” and tap “Languages & Keyboard”
  2. Tap “HTC Sense Input”
  3. Tap “Personal dictionary”
  4. Press “Menu” > “Restore from storage” > “OK”
