How-to: Kyocera Hydro EDGE: Customization – Lock Screen Shortcuts, Widgets and More

Changing the Lock Screen Shortcuts:

1. While viewing one of the home screens, press the "Menu" button on your device
2. Tap "System settings"
3. Select "Security" under "Personal"
4. Tap "Screen lock"
5. Touch "Flick"
6. Select the preferred option and then select a layout option
7. Tap a "+" icon to set the unlock area
8. Tap another "+" icon to set an app shortcut
9. Select the desired application from the list
10. Press "OK" to save the lock screen changes

Customizing the Home Screen

To add app shortcuts to the home screen:

1. Tap the "All apps" icon located on the home screen
2. Tap and hold the desired application
3. Drag the app to an empty area on one of the home screens, and drop it in the desired location
4. Other tips:
   
   • To move an application on the home screen, tap and hold, then move and drop it
   • To create a folder on the home screen, drag and drop an application on top of another. To rename the folder, tap to expand it, then press the name field
   • To remove an app shortcut from a folder or home screen, tap and hold it then drag it on top of the "remove" bar that appears on the home screen

Adding and / or Removing Widgets to / from the Home Screen:

1. Tap the "All apps" icon located on the home screen
2. Tap the "Widgets" tab located at the top of the display
3. Browse through your widgets and tap and hold the one that you wish to add on the home screen
4. Drag the widget on the desired home screen and release it. The widget will automatically snap in place
5. If you wish to move the widget in a different location, go to the home screen containing it and then tap and hold > drag and drop it in a new location

Tips:

• Some widgets can be resized. To resize a widget, tap and hold it, and then drag the borders as you see fit
• To remove a widget, tap and hold, then drag and drop it on top of the "Remove" bar once the widget is highlighted in red

Changing the Wallpaper:

1. Press the "Menu" button while viewing a home screen
2. Select "Wallpaper"
3. Tap the desired option such as "Wallpapers"
4. Scroll through your wallpapers and tap "Set wallpaper" while viewing the one that you wish to use
