Check the Amount of SD Card Storage:
- Tap Apps on the home screen
- Go to Settings
- Tap Storage
- Swipe to SD card" and view the Available values
Format the SD Card:
WARNING! Formatting the SD card will result in the deletion of all data stored on it. If necessary, create backups before proceeding.
- Open the apps drawer
- Go to Settings
- Tap Storage
- Swipe down and tap Erase SD card
- Tap Erase SD card a second time to confirm
Set the Default Memory Storage Location for Apps:
NOTE: By default your pre-loaded applications (such as Camera) will store data on the phones internal memory. You can change this setting for each individual pre-loaded app, in order to switch to SD storage. For the Camera:
- Open the Camera app
- Tap Settings (the icon shaped like a gear)
- Tap Data storage
- Select SD card instead of Internal storage
NOTE: Other default apps can be set to use the SD storage in similar ways. Generally, the option can be found in each apps Settings menu
Open or Delete Files on the SD Card using your Phone:
- Tap Apps
- Launch File Command
- Navigate to the desired file and tap it to open
- To remove the file, tap and hold it, then tap Delete
Transfer Files between SD and Internal Storage:
- Tap Apps on the home screen
- Open File Command
- Navigate to the file you want to transfer
- Tap and hold the file, and select Copy or Cut
- Navigate to the desired target location on the SD card or internal storage, and tap Paste
Transfer Files between SD Card and a Windows PC:
- Connect the Kyocera phone to your computer via USB
- Swipe the Status bar down and tap Touch for other USB options > Media device (MTP)
- From the AutoPlay window on the computer, click to open the devices files and folders
- Browse for the desired files and perform the needed file transfers
- Once done, click the Mass Storage Device icon in the system tray and eject the phones storage
Transfer Files between SD card and a Mac Computer:
- Open the Internet browser on your Mac and visit https://www.android.com/filetransfer/
- Download the app on the Mac
- Open androidfiletransfer.dmg and drag Android File Transfer to Applications
- Connect the Kyocera Hydro Wave to the Mac via USB
- Ensure that the phone is connected as a Media Device (MTP)
- Double-click Android File Transfer on the Mac
- Browse for the desired files, and use the drag > drop function to transfer files between your Mac and SD
