nice idea for making the calls silent.... and thX for the tone.... but is there a feature that like some1 calls and u put them in a special group in which if one of those would call... they would find your phone switched off or somethin'

who cares if they think your phone is switched off? Let them think you're ignoring them!! Maybe they'll take a hint and stop callin!

Re: block unwanted calls
How about this: I get a call or two every single day from a (702) #. I've answered several times, and even called back to find out what the deal is. When I call it back, I get the message "We're sorry, the number you are calling is not in service..."
I have no idea how to stop it, and Verizon definitely isn't helpful either. But I do like the silent idea. Thanks.

Re: block unwanted calls
it depends are you getting like telemarketers or just someone you dont want to talk to...if they are telemarketers there is a do-not-call list on the net

Re: block unwanted calls
On my 8300 I set the group to silent but still get the missed call ding. Can I disable this for silent calls?

Re: block unwanted calls
I don't think so. I have the same trouble with my 8100, and when I have the phone set to vibrate, it still vibrates even though I don't want it to ring at all. Guess whoever made the phone never had an annoying caller they couldn't get rid of.
