    Enable Battery Saving Mode:

    1. Tap "Apps" while viewing the home screen
    2. Access "Settings"
    3. Swipe to "Device" and tap "Battery"
    4. Set the "Battery Saver" switch to "ON"
    5. Set the mode to turn on "Immediately" or at the desired battery level
    6. Customize how battery saver mode works by clearing or checking boxes associated with the available features such as "Auto-sync"

    Lower the Screen Brightness and Adjust Timeout Duration:

    1. Tap "Apps" from the home screen
    2. Go to "Settings" and tap "Display"
    3. Tap "Brightness" and drag the slider to the left
    4. Press "Back" and return to the "Display" menu
    5. Tap "Screen timeout" and select a lower timeout value, like "15 seconds"

    Disabling Wi-Fi, GPS, Hotspot and Bluetooth:

    NOTE: A smartphone's battery life can be improved if you disable the connectivity features when they are not in use. To disable Wi-Fi, GPS, Hotspot and / or Bluetooth:

    1. Tap "Apps" from the home screen
    2. Access "Settings" and tap "Tethering & Networks"
    3. Tap "Mobile Hotspot" and set the feature's switch to "OFF"
    4. Press "Back" and return to the "Settings" screen
    5. Under "Personal", tap "Location" (GPS)
    6. Tap "Mode" and select "Battery saving (Networks only)"
    7. Press "Back" twice and from the "Settings" menu, tap the ON/OFF switches next to "Wi-Fi" and "Bluetooth" to disable these features

    Change the Sync Settings of Apps:

    NOTE: If you set your phone to sync less data or sync less often, you can prolong the battery life on the long run. To do so:

    1. Access the phone's "Settings" menu
    2. Swipe to "Personal" and tap "Accounts & Sync"
    3. Clear the "Auto-sync data" check box
    4. Under "Accounts" choose an application to change the sync settings individually

    Disable Background Data:

    1. Tap "Apps" from the home screen
    2. Go to "Settings" and tap "Mobile Data"
    3. Press "Menu" and mark the "Restrict background data" check box
    4. Tap "OK" to confirm

    Minimize the Use of Third Party Apps:

    NOTE: Certain third party apps can run processes in the background, thus they can affect your phone's battery life. As such, it's recommended to remove or disable any unused applications. To do so:

    1. Open the apps drawer and go to "Settings"
    2. Swipe to "Device"
    3. Tap "Apps" and go to the "Downloaded" tab
    4. Select an application
    5. Tap "Force stop" to disable it, or "Uninstall" to remove it completely

    Switch from 4G to 2G:

    1. Access the phone's "Settings" menu
    2. Tap "Tethering & Networks"
    3. Tap "Mobile networks"
    4. Check the "Use only 2G networks" option
    5. To re-enable 4G, clear the check box

    Keep the Phone Updated:

    NOTE: Some software updates can include improvements or fixes to battery life, so it's highly recommended that you keep your phone up to date. To check for updates:

    1. Tap "Apps" on the home screen
    2. Go to "Settings" > "System"
    3. Tap "About phone" > "Update Center" > "System updates"
    4. Tap "Check now" and if necessary, follow the on-screen prompts to download and apply any available updates to your phone
