Clear App Cache / Data:
NOTE: If one of your apps doesnt work as intended you might be able to fix these issues by clearing the apps cache or data.
WARNING! Clearing an apps cache will remove all personal data stored within the app, including credit card and login information, saved games, settings etc. As such you should start by clearing the cache.
- Tap Apps on the home screen
- Access Settings
- If necessary, tap Menu > List view
- Swipe to Device and tap Apps
- Swipe to All and tap the desired application
- Tap Clear cache
- If necessary, tap Clear data > OK
Wipe the Phones Cache:
NOTE: In case your phone doesnt work as intended, crashes, freezes etc. and youre considering master resetting it, you might be able to fix this behavior by clearing the cache partition instead. Clearing the cache will not remove personal data stored on the internal memory.
- Open the apps drawer
- Go to Settings
- Switch to List view if necessary
- Scroll to Device and tap Storage
- Wait for the menu to finish calculating the data
- Tap Cached data > OK
- Wait for the cache to be cleared, and once done, the storage screen will refresh showing the new amount of cached data (it should be much lower)
NOTE: If clearing the cache didnt help you might be able to solve these issues by factory resetting the phone. Visit this thread for a full guide on master resetting the LG Risio.
Reboot in Safe Mode and Remove an App:
NOTE: If one of your third party applications causes problems and prevents you from removing it, you should be able to easily uninstall it by first rebooting your phone in safe mode. In this mode, all third party apps are disabled.
- Turn off the LG Risio
- Reboot your phone, and once you see the LG logo, press and hold Volume down
- Keep the volume key pressed until you see the home screen
- A Safe Mode label should be visible in the lower-left corner of the screen
- To remove an app in Safe Mode, first go to Settings
- Swipe to Device and then tap Apps
- Swipe to the Downloaded screen and tap the desired application
- Tap Uninstall > OK
- To exit safe mode, simply press and hold Power and tap Power off and restart
