Enable / Disable Emergency Alerts:

  1. Tap “Messaging” on the home screen
  2. Tap “Menu”
  3. Go to “Settings”
  4. Scroll to “Advanced settings”
  5. Tap “More” > “Emergency alerts”
  6. Enable or disable “Imminent server alerts”, “Imminent extreme alerts”, and / or “AMBER alerts”

NOTE: Presidential alerts are enabled by default and cannot be disabled.

Enable Device Lock:

  1. Swipe the “Status” bar down on the home screen
  2. Open “Settings”
  3. Scroll to and tap “Display”
  4. Tap “Lock screen” > “Select lock screen”
  5. Choose a lock screen options and follow the on-screen steps to complete the setup

Change Device Lock Passwords:

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Tap “Display” > “Lock screen”
  3. Tap “Select lock screen”
  4. Tap “Password”
  5. Enter a new password and tap “Continue”
  6. Enter the new password again to confirm and tap “OK”

Change Device PIN Lock:

  1. Go to “Settings”
  2. Tap “Display”
  3. Tap “Lock Screen” > “Select screen lock”
  4. Select “PIN” and enter the new PIN
  5. Tap “Continue”
  6. Enter the PIN again to confirm
  7. Tap “OK”

Disable the Lock Screen:

  1. Open “Settings” and tap “Display”
  2. Tap “Lock screen”
  3. Tap “Select screen lock” and select “None”
  4. If necessary, enter your current PIN / password to confirm
