Ok so, I just bought a L6 phone that was supposed to be quadband and when it showed up in the mail the box and serial number on the phone indicated that it was a tri-band phone. I wrote the seller and this is the response I got back:
"THESE PHONES ARE QUAD BAND BECAUSE WE MAKE THEM QUAD BAND BEFORE SHIPPING THEM. YOU CAN VERIFY BY LOOKING IN NETWORK SETTINGS ON PHONE"

So I have 3 questions for the gurus out there.

    1: How does one make a tri-band phone a quad-band phone
2: How can I verify this (where are the network setting?)
    3: Do I believe this?

Any info on this topic would be of great help and interest as I would be interested in knowing how a triband phone becomes a quad band phone.

Thanks in advance for the help!

There are programs out there you can use to make a tri band phone into a quad band phone. I don't recall off hand which ones they are (possibly MotoEdit). It won't actually show up in the phone, but if you set your network setting to Automatic, whichever bandwidth your carrier uses will be found and used by the phone.
