    i have a motorola v557 an it's hatd for me to get any signal...i used my friend's attenna for his v400...an i got alll kind of signal on my pone so i said it must ave been my attenna giving me problems so i went to te shop buy a new one but when i put the new attennna in,te same thing appened i got no signal at all..then again i used my friend attenna an then boom signal came..wy is this happening am only getting signal wen i use his attenna but when i try the attenna in te shop i gets no signal...what can i do to correct this prob...i tried switching attenna with im but the other attenas is not giving im no signal either

    its a tricky situation.
    maybe that one specific antenna you bought is bad. I mean...very few of the times phones are bad right out from the box so i'm assuming antennas might have the same problem.
    oh..and..my compaq computer (paid $1500)was bad too..I had to go and swap it. but now its got a virus

    ok...but while i tried about 5 different attenaas an none seem to give my phone any signal

    Does it only have bad signal just in your house, or everywhere you go

    If its just in your house then probably your house is in a bad reception area, or cause your house has too many eletronics/magnets.

    Or your house is stationed in between too many factories that cause too much network interference.

    Are you boxed in the mountains?

    nno i live in the bahamas so there are no mountains or factories around me..an yes it happens every where i go..but since i stuck the wire in the external part i gets signal..why is this happening

    ok it located in the back of the phone just below the antenna i had to remove a lil rubber that was there..then i pushed the wire into the littl hole there..........

    then probably that was what was loose and was a crucial part for your phone to get good connection.

    yea you ain't lie about that...burt where am from they cost a arm an a leg so if i can fix this one i have now i will hold out on getting a new 1
