Using a Google Accounts:

NOTE: Using a Google account you can sync the contacts on your SGSIII, and then re-sync the account data with the Moto X Pure Edition.

  1. Sign in with your Google account on the Galaxy SIII
  2. On the home screen, press “Menu” and go to “Settings”
  3. Tap “My Accounts” > “Google”
  4. Tap your “user name” and “email address”
  5. Enable “Sync Contacts” and tap “Sync Now”
  6. Switch to the Moto X and sign in with the same Google account
  7. Set the account to sync contacts with your Moto X

Using the “Contacts” Application:

NOTE: Using the default contacts app on the SGSIII and Moto X Pure Edition, you can export and import the desired contacts from one phone to the other.

  1. Launch “Contacts” on the SGSIII
  2. Access the “Contacts” tab and press “Menu”
  3. Tap “Contacts to display” > “All contacts”
  4. Press “Menu” > “Import / Export”
  5. Tap “Export to SD Card” and write down the file’s name for future use before tapping “OK”
  6. Once the vCard file has been created, compose a new email
  7. Attach the vCard file to the email and send it to your own address
  8. On the Moto X, open the email and download the attached file
  9. Import the file’s contents using the “Contacts” app, by tapping “Menu” > “Import / Export” > “Import from storage”

NOTE: After you have created the vCard file on the SGSIII, you can transfer it to the Moto X’s storage by connecting both smartphones to your computer via USB. Then, import the file’s contents using the “Contacts” app.

Via “Send Anywhere”:

NOTE: Send Anywhere is a third party application that can be used to back up and transfer contacts via email.

  1. Visit the Google Play Store and install “Send Anywhere” on both devices
  2. Launch the app on both smartphones
  3. On the SGSIII, tap “Send” > “Contacts”
  4. Select the desired contacts and tap “Send”
  5. Choose a method of transfer. You can tap “Receive” on the Moto X and enter the transfer code generated on the SGSIII, or tap “Generate QR Code” on the Samsung device, and scan the code with the Moto X’s camera
