So someone called me in the middle of the night last night and, I dunno why, but I answered it. After I hung up, I dropped it. It fell behind my bed, hit the bed frame (metal), and ended up on the floor.
In the morning, I used it all fine and well. Called and texted someone, received three calls. No problemo.
Then about half an hour after all that, I go to call someone. They don't pick up so I hang up w/o leaving a message. Then the dark blues turned light blue, the whites turned a blueish hue. And it was stuck in the 'Disconnected' view when you hang up with someone. I held down the 'End Call' button to turn off the phone, and the previous colours turned green. I shut the phone off. Took out the battery and SIM card. Turned it back on. It then started looking like a TV when you get a bad signal. Turned it off again and back on.
Now the screen is just white. I can receive calls, and I'm pretty sure I could make calls, send/receive texts, everything else it's supposed to do, if only I could see what I'm doing.
So does anyone know what the problem is, and do you think my carrier (T-Mobile) will be able to fix it? I have device protection on my plan, and though the phone was purchased from a 3rd party, I registered it online on my account as my current device.
It's Sunday. All branches are closed. What's your guys' take on this? Think it can be solved? I'm thinking about telling them that 1) it just started doing this and I didn't drop it, 2) I purchased the phone from T-Mobile's website. Think that'll fly, so they have no reason not to attempt to repair it?

Re: Blackberry = white screen
Welp... It's working now. Just pulled it out of my pocket around 6pm (about 10 or so hours after it'd happened), and it's working perfectly. Which pretty much ticks me off. Why? Cause this means this is most likely a problem that will randomly happen and will make it that much harder for me to pinpoint when to take it in to get looked at. >.<

Re: Blackberry = white screen
avoid the hassle and problems. call them and have them send you a replacement. I had a pearl with that problem and even worse it stopped reading my sim card lol. Problem is that they send you refurb phones, so its not new and it might end up having problems as well. I know for a fact that refurbished isnt always the best option.
I love my cellys

Re: Blackberry = white screen
I think I have a fix. I'll explain what I did and please let me know if it works for you.
The problem: A completely, with an emphasis on completely, blank white screen. Occasionally, the phone appears slightly fuzzy, or glitchy. Also, the phone occasionally appears completely normal. The phone, in my case, worked fine despite the screen problems.
The fix: I found a thread about someone claiming that the four solder points behind the mini usb port somehow created a short behind the screen. The guide said to, first, completely disassemble your blackberry (sorry I don't have the guide here...could look for it today and send it to anyone that requests) After disassembled down to being able to see the green motherboard with the small screen attached, slightly and carefully peel the left side of the screen (the side that contains the mini usb port) a bit upwards until you can see the four solder points. For the laymen, these solder points are simply 4 grayish/silver spots. While taking care to not lift the screen excessively and leaving the majority still attached to the motherboard, take a piece of electrical tape, or any insulator and carefully put it over those four solder points.
Then, push screen back into position, reassemble, and test.
Please let me know if this works for you. My problem was solved instantly.
As for a second major problem of blackberry owners: if your phone will not sync with your computer and you have a bad mini usb port on your blackberry, it is probably because of the mini usb female port of your phone. A replacement of the port is the only solution I know of for this problem
As for a white screen with an hourglass: I think this is probably going to, usually, be a software problem and requires a reload of the operating system using your blackberry software on cd, or software directly from blackberry.com

Re: Blackberry = white screen
First:
By all means, use warranty if you have it. This is just normal wear and tear for a cell phone.I never dropped my phone and encountered this same problem. Please do not tell them that you dropped your phone, as they may take this as "dropped it from the roof of your house." Dropping your phone from a 3-4 foot distance to the ground is normal, everyday wear for a phone. It should be built to withstand small drops.
If your warranty does not cover it:
Follow my instructions on the previous post on how to fix this problem. It's guaranteed to work, but may void your warranty. There is a short created between the screen and these four solder points that causes this. A fuzzy screen, hesitant display change, and white screen are all experiences I had while this problem occurred. Please be careful when pulling the adhesed screen from the mainboard, if you do attempt.
My phone is still working and my post was made a few months ago.
As for people with sim card errors:
Problem solved. Stick an index card or thick piece of paper on top of the Sim Card so that when you put the silver latch back and close it, a more firm connection is made from the back of your sim card to the metal contact points in your phone.
Hope this helped.

Re: Blackberry = white screen
One thing I must point out (even though it should be obvious).
If you try any suggestions here on the Forum, and it bricks (breaks/destroys) your phone. Please don't come back here and want us to replace/pay for your phone because you tried something here that you read.
If you try anything anybody has suggested, you do it at your own risk.
WE TAKE NO RESPONSIBILITY IF YOUR PHONE IS RUINED.
With that being said, I would listen to what Tru Shard has to say.
First I would try and get a replacement though.

Re: Blackberry = white screen
Could I please get some feedback as to whether electrical tape placed behind the screen (in front of the four solder points) has fixed white screen/blurry image problems?
I've seen only one reply, on another forum website, that this has helped. It appeared to solve this individual's cell phone problems completely.
This is a very common problem and I just want to make sure that people viewing this thread know whether this works or not.
It's worked for me, but this is only one case.

Re: Blackberry = white screen
I have never heard of this being done. I have only owned three berry's though. I usually don't keep them long enough for something like what your describing happen to them.
Then again, I carry insurance on my phones so if something like this ever did, I would just get a new one.
