Hi, I'm new here - so if i'm doing something wrong, just let me know.

Basically I've recently gotten a promotion and I need a new plan and phone.

the problem is that while the new plan is fine - they won't let me get a smart phone. Which is what i need, as i have to be plugged in and easily accessible for my new job.

A friend through Bell said that they'll find a way to buy-out my contract, but I'd rather stay with Rogers as they've actually been pretty good to deal with. (and I've heard some horror stories re: Bell.)

They keep telling me that i need to buy the phone outright, but I don't think that's right - I've been with the company about 15 months; had one phone break on me and got saddled with a POS Samsung that drops calls and has a broken keyboard.

Any advice?
