Restoring Applications:
- If necessary, register your Google account on your Neo
- While on the home screen, press the "Menu" button
- Tap "Settings" and access the "Accounts" tab
- Tap "Google" > "Sync all"
- Press "Back" and tap "Backup and reset"
- Mark / Clear the check boxes next to "Backup my data" and "Automatic restore"
Restoring Contacts
Restoring Contacts from a Google or Samsung Account:
- While viewing the home screen, press the "Menu" key
- Tap "Settings"
- Access the "Accounts" tab
- Select "Google" or "Samsung", depending on the type of account you've used to back up your contacts
- Tap the "email address" at the top of the screen
- Mark the "Sync contacts" check box. If the box is already checked, tap "Sync now"
Restoring Contacts from the SD Card:
- Launch the "Contacts" application
- From the app, tap the "Contacts" tab
- Press "Menu" and select "Import / Export"
- Tap "Import from SD card"
- Choose the desired account to import the contacts to
- Tap "Import vCard file" > "OK"
- Select the desired backup file and tap "OK" to confirm
Restoring Media Files
Restoring Media Files from the SD Card:
- Tap the "Apps" icon located on the home screen
- Tap "My Files" > "All files" > "SD card"
- Locate the files backed up on the SD card
- Tap and hold the file that you wish to restore
- Select "Move". The device will now display the available memory location. To move the file to a different location than the ones suggested, you can tap "Create new" or tap the folder name
- Tap "Move here"
Restoring Media Files from a Windows Computer:
- Connect your SIII Neo to your PC via USB
- Swipe the "Status" bar down and tap "Connected as a media device" > "Media device"
- On the computer, click "Open device to view files using Windows Explorer" in the AutoPlay window
- Open a new Windows Explorer window, and navigate to where you've backed up the files
- Copy the desired files, and paste them on your phone's storage. NOTE: the "Card" icon represents the phone's external memory, whereas the "Phone" icon corresponds to the internal storage
- Once the transfer is complete, safely disconnect your handset from the computer
Restoring Media Files from a Mac Computer:
- Establish a connection between your smartphone and Mac via USB
- On the Neo, swipe the "notification" bar down and tap "Connected as a media device"
- Mark the "Media device" check box
- Launch Samsung Kies on the Mac
- In Kies, click the "Back up / restore" tab, and then click the "Restore" tab
- Next, mark the check boxes associated with "Music", "Photo" or any other type of file that you wish to restore. Alternatively, mark the "Select all items" check box
- Click "Restore", and follow any additional prompts if they appear
- Once the process is complete, safely disconnect your smartphone from the Mac
