Restoring Applications:
- Sign in with your Google account, if necessary
- While on the home screen, press the "Menu" button
- Tap "Settings"
- Go to the "Accounts" tab
- Tap "Google" > "Sync all"
- Press the "Back" button
- Tap "Backup and reset"
- Mark / unmark the check boxes next to "Backup my data" and "Automatic restore"
Contact Restore
Restoring Contacts from a Samsung or Google Account:
- From the home screen, press the "Menu" key
- Tap "Settings"
- Access the "Accounts" tab
- Select "Samsung" or "Google"
- Tap the "email address" located at the top of the screen
- Tap the "Sync contacts" check box. In case the box is already ticked, tap "Sync now"
Restoring Contacts from the SD Card:
- While on the home screen, tap the "Contacts" icon
- Access the "Contacts" tab
- Press the "Menu" button and tap "Import / Export"
- Tap "Import from SD card"
- Choose the account on which you wish to import / restore the contacts
- Tap "Import vCard file" and tap "OK"
- Select the desired vCard / backup file and press "OK"
Restoring Media Files
Restoring Media Files form the SD Card:
- Tap the "Apps" icon while on the home screen
- Open "My Files" and tap "All files"
- Tap "SD card" and navigate to where the media files are backed up
- Tap and hold the desired file
- Select "Move"
- The smartphone will show the available memory locations. You can select a different location by tapping "Create new" or by touching the folder name
- Tap "Move here"
Restoring Media Files form a Windows Computer:
- Connect your Galaxy Ace to your PC via USB
- On the Ace, swipe the "Status" bar down
- Tap "Connected as a media device" and mark the "Media device" check box
- From the AutoPlay window on the computer, click "Open device to view files using Windows Explorer"
- Open a second Windows Explorer window and locate the backed up files on the HDD
- Transfer the desired files to your phone's memory. NOTE: the "card" icon represents the SD storage, whereas the "Phone" icon represents the internal memory
- Once the transfer is complete, safely disconnect your smartphone
Restoring Media Files form a Mac Computer:
- Establish a connection between your Ace Style and mac via USB
- Swipe the "Status" bar down and tap "Connected as a media device"
- Mark the "media device" check box
- Launch Kies on the Mac, and click the "Back up / Restore" tab
- Click the "Restore" tab and mark the check box next to "Music", "Photo" or any other file category that you wish to restore. You can also tap "Select all items"
- Click "Restore" and follow any additional prompts if necessary
- After the process is complete, safely disconnect your smartphone from the Mac
