Restoring Applications:

  1. Sign in with your Google account, if necessary
  2. While on the home screen, press the "Menu" button
  3. Tap "Settings"
  4. Go to the "Accounts" tab
  5. Tap "Google" > "Sync all"
  6. Press the "Back" button
  7. Tap "Backup and reset"
  8. Mark / unmark the check boxes next to "Backup my data" and "Automatic restore"

Contact Restore

Restoring Contacts from a Samsung or Google Account:

  1. From the home screen, press the "Menu" key
  2. Tap "Settings"
  3. Access the "Accounts" tab
  4. Select "Samsung" or "Google"
  5. Tap the "email address" located at the top of the screen
  6. Tap the "Sync contacts" check box. In case the box is already ticked, tap "Sync now"

Restoring Contacts from the SD Card:

  1. While on the home screen, tap the "Contacts" icon
  2. Access the "Contacts" tab
  3. Press the "Menu" button and tap "Import / Export"
  4. Tap "Import from SD card"
  5. Choose the account on which you wish to import / restore the contacts
  6. Tap "Import vCard file" and tap "OK"
  7. Select the desired vCard / backup file and press "OK"

Restoring Media Files

Restoring Media Files form the SD Card:

  1. Tap the "Apps" icon while on the home screen
  2. Open "My Files" and tap "All files"
  3. Tap "SD card" and navigate to where the media files are backed up
  4. Tap and hold the desired file
  5. Select "Move"
  6. The smartphone will show the available memory locations. You can select a different location by tapping "Create new" or by touching the folder name
  7. Tap "Move here"

Restoring Media Files form a Windows Computer:

  1. Connect your Galaxy Ace to your PC via USB
  2. On the Ace, swipe the "Status" bar down
  3. Tap "Connected as a media device" and mark the "Media device" check box
  4. From the AutoPlay window on the computer, click "Open device to view files using Windows Explorer"
  5. Open a second Windows Explorer window and locate the backed up files on the HDD
  6. Transfer the desired files to your phone's memory. NOTE: the "card" icon represents the SD storage, whereas the "Phone" icon represents the internal memory
  7. Once the transfer is complete, safely disconnect your smartphone

Restoring Media Files form a Mac Computer:

  1. Establish a connection between your Ace Style and mac via USB
  2. Swipe the "Status" bar down and tap "Connected as a media device"
  3. Mark the "media device" check box
  4. Launch Kies on the Mac, and click the "Back up / Restore" tab
  5. Click the "Restore" tab and mark the check box next to "Music", "Photo" or any other file category that you wish to restore. You can also tap "Select all items"
  6. Click "Restore" and follow any additional prompts if necessary
  7. After the process is complete, safely disconnect your smartphone from the Mac
