Using a Google Account:

With the help of a Google account you can sync the contacts stored on your HTC smartphone with the account, after which the contacts can be transferred over to a different Android device by re-syncing the contacts with it. To perform this method of contact transfer:

  1. Sign in with your Google account on the HTC device
  2. Swipe the "Status" bar down using two fingers
  3. Tap "Settings"
  4. Swipe to "Personal" and tap "Accounts & sync"
  5. Tap "Google" and select an account
  6. Press "Menu" > "Sync all"
  7. Switch to the Galaxy S5 LTE-A and sign in with the same Google account
  8. From the home screen, tap "Apps" and go to "Settings"
  9. Swipe to "User and Backup" and tap "Accounts"
  10. Press "Menu" and tap "Sync all"

Using the "Import / Export" Function:

Using the default "People" and "Contacts" apps that are pre-loaded on the One Mini (M7) and Galaxy S5 LTE-A respectively, you can easily export and import the contacts in the form of a VCF file, as explained below:

  1. Launch the "People" app on the HTC One Mini (M7)
  2. Go to the "People" tab and press "Menu"
  3. Tap "Manage contacts" > "Import / Export contacts"
  4. Select "Export to phone storage" or SD Card
  5. If necessary, select an account
  6. Tap "OK" to export create the VCF file (NOTE: remember the file's name as you'll need it in the following steps)
  7. Launch the email application and compose a new email
  8. Attach the VCF file to the email and send it to your Gmail address
  9. On the Galaxy S5 LTE-A, open the email and download the VCF attachment
  10. Open the "Contacts" app on the Samsung device
  11. Tap "Menu" > "import / Export"
  12. Select "Import from SD card" or "from storage"
  13. Browse for the VCF file and load its contents to your phonebook

NOTE: After the vCard file has been created on the HTC One Mini (M7), you can transfer it over to the SGS5 LTE-A by connecting both handsets to a computer via USB, and manually copy-pasting the file to the SGS5's LTE-A's storage

Using "Send Anywhere":

Finally, you can also use third party apps to transfer your contacts. "Send Anywhere" is an app that allows you to transfer contacts from one phone to another without the need of a computer, through a P2P connection. To use this method:

  1. Launch the Google Play Store and install "Send Anywhere" on both Android smartphones
  2. Open the app on both handsets
  3. On the HTC One Mini M7, tap "Send" > "Contacts'
  4. Select the contacts you want to share
  5. Tap "Send" and choose a sharing method. By tapping "Receive" on the Galaxy S5 LTE-A, you can enter the transfer code from the One Mini to begin the transfer. You can also tap "Generate QR Code" on the HTC device and scan the code with the Samsung smartphone's camera
