Restore Apps:

  1. Log in to the Samsung or Google account used for the backup
  2. Access the "Settings" menu and swipe to "User and Backup"
  3. Tap "Accounts" and select "Samsung" or "Google"
  4. Tap your "email address" and tap "Sync all"
  5. Press "Back" to return to the "User and Backup" menu
  6. Tap "Backup and reset", then mark and clear the check box associated with "Automatic restore" and "Back up my data"

Restore Contacts

Restore Contacts from a Samsung or Google Account:

  1. Sign in to your Google or Samsung account
  2. Tap "Apps" from the home screen and go to "Settings"
  3. Swipe to "User and Backup" and tap "Accounts"
  4. Tap "Samsung" or "Google" depending on the type of account used for the initial backup
  5. Tap the "email address" at the top of the screen
  6. Mark the "Sync Contacts" check box and tap "Sync now"

Restore Contacts from the SD Card:

  1. Open the "Contacts" app and access the "Contacts" tab
  2. Press "Menu" and tap "Settings" > "Contacts"
  3. Tap "Import / Export" > "Import from SD card"
  4. Select an account and load the vCard file to restore it

Restore Media Files

From the Phone's Storage:

  1. Open the apps drawer and launch "My Files"
  2. Tap "All files" > "SD card"
  3. Press "Menu" and tap "Select"
  4. Check the box(es) associated with the items you wish to restore
  5. Press "Menu" and tap "Move" > "Device storage"
  6. Access the location where you want to restore the files
  7. Tap "move here" or alternatively, tap "Create folder" or the folder name to restore the files in a different location

Restore Media Files from a Windows PC:

  1. Connect the Galaxy Core Prime to the computer via USB
  2. Drag the "Status" bar down and tap "Connected as a media device"
  3. Check the "Media device (MTP)" box
  4. In the AutoPlay window on the computer, click "Open device to view files"
  5. Open a second Windows Explorer window and locate the backed up media files on your computer
  6. Copy the desired files and transfer them to the smartphone in the "Card" or "Phone" (sub)directories
  7. Once the transfer is complete, click the "mass storage device" icon from the system tray and disconnect your smartphone

Restore Media Files from a Mac Computer:

  1. Establish a USB connection between the Core Prime and PC
  2. From the notification area tap "Connected as a media device"
  3. Mark the check box associated with "Media device"
  4. Launch Kies on the Mac and click the "Back up / Restore" tab
  5. Access the "Restore" tab and mark the "Music" and "Photo" check boxes. Alternatively click "Select all items" to restore all media files
  6. When ready, click "Restore"
  7. When the transfer is done, safely eject the phone's storage from the Mac and disconnect the phone from the computer
