Transfer Audio Files from a Windows PC:
- Connect the Samsung Galaxy Express 3 to your PC via USB
- At the prompt, enable Media device (MTP) / File Transfer (MTP), or enable the option from the notification area
- On the computer, open the File Explorer
- Locate the desired audio files on the PC and copy them
- Transfer the files on the phone storage, preferably in the Ringtones and Notifications folders
- Once the transfer is complete, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect it from the USB cord
Transfer Audio Files from a Mac:
NOTE: If Samsung Kies is already installed on the Mac, skip the first 3 steps below.
- Launch the Internet browser on the Mac
- Head down to Kies Support
- Click Kies 3 for Mac and follow the on-screen prompts to download and install Kies on the Mac
- Connect the Galaxy Express 3 to your Mac via USB
- At the prompt, enable Media device (MTP) / File Transfer (MTP) or enable the option in the notification area
- Open Kies on the Mac
- In Kies, click the Folder icon associated with External memory or Internal memory
- Launch the file finder on the Mac and locate the desired audio files on the computer storage
- Drag the files and drop them in Kies
- Once the transfer is done, drag the phones virtual drive from the desktop and drop it into the trash can to eject it
- Its now safe to disconnect the phone from the USB cord
Add Audio Files to the Ringtone List:
- Open the apps drawer and launch Settings
- Scroll to Device
- Tap Sounds & notifications
- Under Sound, tap Ringtones and sounds
- Tap Ringtone > Add ringtone
- Select Sound picker and choose if you want to use the option Always or Just once
- Select the audio files you want to add to the ringtone list and tap Done
Change the General Ringtone:
- Go to Settings
- Under Device tap Sounds & notifications
- Under Sound, tap Ringtones & sound
- Tap Ringtone
- Select a ringtone from the list and tap Back to apply the changes
Change a Contacts Ringtone:
NOTE: Custom ringtones cannot be assigned to contacts located on the SIM card or internal memory.
- Launch Contacts
- Select the desired contact and tap Edit
- Tap Ringtone
- Select the desired ringtone and tap OK
- Tap Save to confirm
Change the Notification Sound:
- Go to Settings and scroll to Device
- Tap Sounds & Notifications
- Tap Ringtones and Sounds
- Select a notification type and then select the desired notification sound
- Tap Back to apply the changes
