Back Up Data:

  1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
  2. Access “Settings”
  3. Scroll to “Personal” and tap “Backup & reset”
  4. Enable “Back up my data” to back up Wi-Fi passwords, settings, and other account data
  5. To allow data to be restored automatically when signing in with your Google backup account, enable “Automatic restore”

Back Up Contacts on a Google Account:

  1. Launch “Settings”
  2. Tap “Accounts” and select “Google”
  3. Choose the Google account you want to use for syncing your contacts
  4. Make sure “Contacts” is checked and then tap “More” > “Sync Now”

Back Up Contacts to Storage / SD Card:

  1. Launch “Settings”
  2. Scroll to “Device”
  3. Tap “Applications” > “Contacts”
  4. Tap “Import / Export contacts” > “Export”
  5. Select to export contacts to “Storage” or “SD Card”
  6. Make sure you remember the backup file name for future reference and tap “OK”

Back Up Media Files on the SD Card:

  1. Open the apps drawer
  2. Launch “My Files”
  3. Tap “Device storage” under “Local storage”
  4. Tap “More” > “Edit”
  5. Locate the media files you want to back up
  6. Tick the boxes next to the desired media files you want to back up
  7. Tap “More” > “Copy” > “SD Card”
  8. Tap “Create folder” or navigate to a different backup location
  9. Tap “Paste here”

Back Up Media Files on a Windows PC:

  1. Connect the Samsung Galaxy On Nxt to your computer using the USB cord
  2. Turn on “Media device (MTP)” / “File Transfer (MTP)” when prompted or from the “Notification” area
  3. Launch the File Explorer on the computer
  4. Using the Explorer, locate the media files on your phone and copy them
  5. Transfer the files in the desired backup location on the PC storage
  6. Once the transfer is done, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the device from the USB port

Back Up Media Files on a Mac Computer:

NOTE: If Samsung Kies is already installed on your Mac, you should skip the first 3 steps below:

  1. Open the Internet browser on the Mac
  2. Visit Kies Support
  3. Click “Kies 3 for Mac” and follow the on-screen steps to install the app on the Mac
  4. Establish a USB connection between the phone and Mac
  5. Enable “Media device (MTP)” / “File Transfer (MTP)” when prompted or form “Notification”
  6. Launch Kies on the Mac and access the “Back up / restore” tab
  7. Go to the “Backup” tab
  8. Select “Music”, “Photos”, and other media file types you want to back up
  9. Click “Backup” and wait for the process to complete
  10. After the backup is done, eject the phone storage by dragging the virtual drive from the desktop and dropping it into the “Trash can”
  11. Safely disconnect the phone from the USB cord
