    Hi,

I just recently bought a Samsung Katalyst for T-mobile, SGH-739. According to the Samsung Website, the phone supports the SPP bluetooth profile, which I believe means that it should be able to be recognized by a PC. Neither of my computer will recognize the phone however, using either updated Windows, Widcomm or Bluesoleil drivers. Admittedly, I am using an old bluetooth dongle (Broadcom GPU211).

    - Is it possible the Katalyst is crippled not to interface with a PC? (The menu doesn't say anything about a SPP profile, only Headset and Headphones).

    - Could my dongle somehow be out of date for the phone?

    - Is there a setting I need to change on my computer (I have set it to recognize devices and be recognized by devices. I have no problem pairing the PC with a headset, or pairing the headset with the phone).

    Thanks,

    Gence

Hi Gence. I am having the same problem. I also cannot find or be found by my wife's phone. I called T-mobile and was told the phone is only able to connect to the profiles listed; Headset or handsfree. I don't understand why but suspect T-mobile is not allowing anything else so they can charge a fee for their WiFi service. Have you heard of any kind of work-around? I am also trying to find a way to get into my own WiFi network at home.

I want to do the same and I am already using the USB cable. The USB cable seems to be working (9.6k) although Thunderbird 2.0 was the only thing that works over the dialup. It is too slow for the simplest web site. Let me know if you have different experience.

PS. The USB cable doubles as a charger.

PC Studio is the only software I used. For other people who are reading this, it has the driver to make the USB into a modem.
