samsung exclaim how do i do a factory reset?

Hi everyone! im having problems with my samsung exclaim phone. the exclaim is telling me that i have 00 msg slots left... and i have deleted all my messages.. someone told me to reset the phone, but i have not a clue how to do that! i hope someone can help me.

settings>more>security - put in the last 4 digits of your number - erase/reset>reset phone
