Hello all I'm new to this forum, as well as this country(USA), and apparently I don't quite get the way the cell providers work here...
I have an unlocked and much loved Sony-Ericsson K610i that I used in Europe. There, I was able to use my phone with any provider that used a sim card. Now in the US, I'm finding that I am required to purchase not only the service of a mobile provider, but a new cell phone as well . Ok, fine then. I would like to get theBoost/no-contract/$50 p.m./unlimited everything/etc offer. So if I must, I'll buy one of the phones they offer(even though I don't like a single one of them.. ), and then simply pop the sim into my unlocked K610i and throw the new phone in a drawer...right? Er... the guy at Radio Shack say's that this will not work(although he also didn't look too very sure of himself as he told me this). I know that it works with a Verizon sim... I tried my sister's in my phone and it worked fine. None the less, I don't quite dare buying the Boost package and new phone without being a little more sure.
Has anyone out there tried this, or know anything about why it would not work? Any tips are much appriciated...
    Cheers, Ms. Alicia Z
