Enabling Battery Saving Mode:

  1. While on the home screen, tap the "Applications" icon
  2. Browse for and tap "Settings"
  3. Scroll down to "Device" and then press "Power management"
  4. Tap the "STAMINA mode" switch and bring it in the "On" position
  5. Tap the "Low battery mode" switch to bring it in the "On" position
  6. Tap the "Location-based Wi-Fi" switch to bring it in the "On" position

To change the Battery saving mode settings:

  1. While on the home screen, tap the "Applications" icon
  2. Scroll to and tap "Settings"
  3. Under "Device", tap "Power management"
  4. Choose one of the following:

    • Edit STAMINA mode:

      1. Tap "STAMINA mode"
      2. Press the "STAMINA mode" switch to enable the feature
      3. Touch "Activation"
      4. Press the "Battery level" slider and adjust the percentage at which you wish STAMINA mode to activate automatically
      5. Press "OK". If necessary, you can add or remove applications to / from the list, under "Apps Active in Standby"

    • Edit Low Battery Mode:

      1. Tap "Low battery mode"
      2. Press the "Low battery mode" switch in order to enable this feature
      3. Edit the "Screen brightness" and "Screen timeout" features
      4. Select or clear the following options:
        • Vibrate on touch off
        • Wi-Fi off
        • GPS off
        • Bluetooth off
        • Auto-sync off
        • Mobile data off


Tips and Tricks to Save Battery Life

Lower the Screen's Brightness and Timeout Duration:

  1. While on the home screen, tap the "Applications" icon
  2. Go to "Settings"
  3. Scroll to "Device" and then tap "Display"
  4. Press "Brightness"
  5. If necessary, clear the "Adapt to lighting conditions" checkbox
  6. Tap and hold the brightness slider and then drag it to the left in order to decrease screen brightness
  7. Press "OK"
  8. Tap "Sleep" and select "15 seconds"

Disabling Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Portable Wi-Fi Hotspot and GPS when Not in Use:

  1. While on the home screen, tap and drag down the "Notification" bar
  2. Tap the "Wi-Fi", "Bluetooth" and "Location" (GPS) icons in order to disable these features
  3. Press the "Settings" icon located in the upper-right corner of the display
  4. Tap "More" under "Wireless & Network"
  5. Press "Tethering and Mobile HotSpot"
  6. Clear the "Mobile HotSpot" checkbox in order to disable it

Reducing Application Auto-Sync Settings:

  1. Access the "Apps drawer"
  2. Go to "Settings"
  3. Under "Accounts", select the account that you wish to edit
  4. Select your account name if necessary
  5. Clear the automatic sync checkboxes as you see fit

Disabling Background Data:

  1. Tap the "Applications" icon on the home screen and select "Settings"
  2. Tap "Data usage" located under "Wireless & Networks"
  3. Press the "Menu" icon located in the top-right corner of the display
  4. Mark the "Restrict background data" checkbox

Minimize Usage of Third Party Applications:

  1. Access your "Apps drawer"
  2. Scroll to and tap "Settings"
  3. Go to "Device" and tap "Apps"
  4. Slight the display left or right in order to access the "Downloaded" screen
  5. Tap the desired app
  6. Select either "Disable" or "Uninstall"
  7. Tap "OK"

Switching From 4G to WCDMA:

  1. On the home screen, tap the "Applications" icon
  2. Scroll to and select "Settings"
  3. Under "Wireless & Networks" press "More"
  4. Scroll down to and press "Mobile networks"
  5. Tap "Network Mode" and select "WCDMA"

Updating to the Latest Software Version:

Note: This tip will only work assuming that a new software version that addresses battery issues with your device has been released. If no software update is being found, then following these steps will not give results.

  1. Touch the "Applications" icon on the home screen
  2. Go to and tap "Settings"
  3. Press "About Phone" under "System"
  4. Press "Software update". If a new software update is available for download, follow the on-screen prompts in order to apply it
