Clearing an Application's Cache and / or Data:

NOTE: If you find yourself in a situation where one of your applications is not working correctly, then you can try fixing these problems by clearing the app's cache. If clearing the application's cache fails, you can also clear the application's data.

WARNING! Clearing an application's data will result in the deletion of all personal information stored within the app, including saved games, login information, settings and so on. As such, it's recommended that you first try to fix your application by clearing its cache. Unlike clearing the data, wiping the cache will not result in the deletion of personal data.

  1. Tap the "Applications" icon while viewing a home screen
  2. Tap "Settings"
  3. Scroll to "Device" and tap "Apps"
  4. Swipe to the "Downloaded" or "All" screen
  5. Browse through the list of apps and select the desired one
  6. Tap "Clear cache"
  7. If clearing the cache hasn't helped, tap "Clear data" > "OK"

Clearing the Phone's Cache Partition:

NOTE: Assuming that your phone is not working correctly, you can try and fix these problems by applying a master reset. However, before doing so, it's recommended that you try fixing these issues by first wiping the phone's cache partition. Unlike a factory reset, clearing the phone's cache will not result in the deletion of personal data stored on the handset's internal memory. To wipe the cache partition:

  1. With the smartphone turned on, press and hold the "Volume Up" and "Power" buttons at the same time
  2. Keep holding the buttons and the screen will shut off
  3. Once the smartphone vibrates once, release the "Power" and "Volume Up" keys
  4. Press the "Power" button to reboot your smartphone like you normally would

NOTE: if clearing the cache partition hasn't helped, then you may have to factory reset your device. To learn how you can master reset the Sony Xperia T3, follow this link for a full guide.
