How-to: Sony Xperia Z2A: Add, Import / Export and Manage Contacts & Groups

Managing Contacts

Adding a Contact:

1. Tap the "Phone" icon located on the home screen
2. Go to the "Contacts" tab
3. Tap "Add contact"
4. Choose the location where you wish to save the contact, such as "Local contact"
5. Enter the contact's first and last name in the proper fields
6. Type in the contact's phone number in the "Phone" field
7. Optionally, tap the "Mobile" drop-down menu and select a different type of phone number
8. Type in any additional contact information
9. When ready, tap "Done" and the contact will be saved

Assigning a Contact to Speed Dial:

1. From the home screen, tap the "Phone" icon
2. Press the "Menu" icon located at the lower-left corner
3. Tap "Speed dial settings"
4. Touch the "Add" icon associated with the dial pad number you want to use
5. Select the contact that you want to associated with the selected dial pad number

Deleting a Contact:

1. Tap the "Phone" icon from the home screen
2. Access the "Contacts" tab
3. Tap and hold the contact that you wish to delete
4. Tap the "Trash can" icon located in the bottom-right corner
5. To confirm, tap "OK"

Import / Export Contacts from / to the SD Card:

1. Launch the "Phone" app
2. Go to the "Contacts" tab located in the top-left corner
3. Choose to "Import Contacts" or "Export Contacts"
4. Tap "SD Card"
5. When importing contacts, select the vCard file that you wish to import
6. Tap "OK"

Importing / Exporting Contacts from / to the SIM Card:

1. From the home screen, tap the "Phone" icon
2. Go to the "Contacts" tab
3. Touch the "Menu" icon and select "Import contacts" or "Back up contacts"
4. Tap "SIM Card" and then perform one of the following sets of steps:
   
   • When exporting contacts:
     
     1. Tap the contacts that you wish to export or tap "Mark All"
     2. Tap "Back up"
     3. Tap "Add contacts"
   • When importing contacts:
     
     1. Select the contact's location, such as "Local contact"
     2. Mark the contacts that you want to import, or simply tap "Import all"

Managing Groups

Creating a Caller Group:

1. Tap the "Phone" icon while on the home screen
2. Access the "Groups" tab
3. Tap "Add group"
4. Type in a name for the group and then tap "Done"

Adding Contacts to an Existing Caller Group:

1. Launch the "Phone" application
2. Go to the "Groups" tab and select the group that you wish to add contacts to
3. Tap "Add contact"
4. Choose the contacts that you wish to add
5. Tap "Done" to confirm
