Enabling STAMINA and Low Battery Mode:

  1. Tap "Apps" while viewing the home screen
  2. Go to "Settings" and scroll to "Device"
  3. Tap "Power Management"
  4. Perform one of the following:
    • To turn STAMINA mode on:
      1. Tap "STAMINA mode"
      2. Tap the on / off switch associated with the option and set it to "ON"
      3. Tap "Activation" and select the battery level at which STAMINA mode should enable automatically
      4. Tap "OK" to confirm, and optionally, add or remove apps from the "Apps active in Standby" section
    • To enable Low Battery Mode:
      1. Tap "Low battery mode" and enable the feature
      2. Edit the settings for "Screen brightness" and "Screen timeout" as you see fit
      3. Clear or mark the check boxes associated with "Auto-sync off", "GPS off" and other features you wish to be turned on or off during Low Power Mode


Adjusting the Screen's Timeout Duration and Brightness:

  1. While viewing the home screen, tap "Apps"
  2. Go to "Settings"
  3. Swipe to "Device" and tap "Display"
  4. Go to "Brightness" and clear the "Adapt to lighting conditions" check box
  5. Drag the "Brightness" slider to the left and set it to a lower value
  6. Tap "OK" and touch "Sleep"
  7. Select a lower timeout duration, like "15 seconds"

Disabling GPS, Wi-Fi, Hotspot and Bluetooth:

NOTE: It's highly recommended that you disable all connectivity features when they are not in use. A smartphone's GPS, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth capabilities can have a great negative effect on your battery life, if left running constantly and when not in use. To disable these features:

  1. While on the home screen, swipe the "Notification" bar down
  2. Tap the "Wi-Fi", "Bluetooth" and "Location" (GPS) tiles to disable these features
  3. Tap "Settings" > "More" > "Wireless & Networks"
  4. Tap "Tethering and Mobile Hotspot"
  5. From here, clear the check box associated with "Mobile Hotspot" to disable it

Disabling Background Data:

  1. Swipe the "status" bar down and tap "Settings"
  2. Tap "Data usage" under "Wireless & Network"
  3. Tap "Menu" and mark the check box next to "Restrict Background Data"

Minimizing Auto-Sync for Apps:

  1. Tap the "Apps" icon while on the home screen
  2. Go to "Settings" and swipe to "Accounts"
  3. Select the account you wish to edit
  4. If necessary, tap your account name
  5. To reduce syncing, clear as many check boxes (next to apps and features) as you can

Minimizing the Use of Third Party Apps:

NOTE: Even if you may not use certain applications, certain third party apps can still run processes in the background, even when not in use. As such, in order to maximize your phone's battery life on the long run, it's recommended that you disable or uninstall third party apps that you don't use.

  1. Open the apps drawer and go to "Settings"
  2. Swipe to "Device" and tap "Apps"
  3. Go to the "Downloaded" section
  4. Select the desired app and tap "Disable" or "Uninstall"
  5. Press "OK" to confirm

Switching from 4G to WCDMA:

  1. Access the phone's "Settings" menu
  2. Under "Wireless & Networks", tap "More"
  3. Go to "mobile networks" and tap "Network mode"
  4. Select "WCDMA" to restrict your device from using 4G

Updating to the Latest Software Version:

NOTE: Manufacturers release new software updates now and again, and sometimes these new OS versions bring improvements to the phone's battery life. As such, it's recommended that you keep your smartphone up to date. Remember that following the steps below will have no effect on your battery life, unless a new update is available for download

  1. Open the apps drawer
  2. Tap "Settings"
  3. Swipe to "System" and go to "About phone"
  4. Tap "Software update" and follow the on-screen instructions if an update is available for download
