Back Up Applications:
- While viewing the home screen, tap "Apps"
- Go to "Settings"
- Swipe to "Personal" and tap "Backup & reset"
- Mark the "Backup my data" check box
- Tap "Backup account" and select the desired backup account. If you need to add a new account, tap "Add account" and follow the on-screen instructions
Backing Up Contacts:
- Open the apps drawer
- Tap "Backup & restore"
- Mark the check box associated with "Contacts". Optionally, choose to back up "Conversations" and "Call log" too
- Tap "Continue"
- When the backup is done, tap "Finish"
Media File Backup
Backing Up Media Files Using Your Smartphone:
- Tap "Apps" from the home screen
- Scroll to and tap "File Commander"
- Tap "Pictures" or "Videos" and go to "Camera"
- Mark the files you wish to transfer and tap "Copy"
- Navigate to the File Commander's main screen and tap "SD Card"
- Go to the folder where you wish to back up the media files
- Tap the icon depicting a notepad with pen, and tap "Paste"
Backing Up Media Files on a Windows Computer:
- Establish a USB connection between the Sony Xperia Z3 and computer
- In the AutoPlay window on the computer, select to browse the phone's files and folders
- Access the phone's "Internal storage"
- Navigate to where the media files are located on the phone
- Copy the desired files and paste them in the desired backup location on your computer
- After the transfer is done, click the "Safely Remove Hardware" icon located in the system tray
- Click "Safely Remove Mass Storage Device" > "OK"
- You can now safely disconnect your smartphone from the computer
