Transfer Audio Files from a Windows PC:
- Connect the Sony Xperia M5 to your computer via USB
- Make sure the phone is connected as a media device
- Open an Explorer window on the computer, and locate the desired audio files on the PC storage
- Copy the files, and navigate to the phone storage
- Paste the files in the media directory, preferably in the Music and Notifications folders
- Once the transfer is complete, eject the phone storage from the system tray
- Safely disconnect the phone from the USB
Change the Phone Ringtone:
- Tap Apps on the home screen
- Open Settings
- Under Device, tap Sound
- Tap phone ringtone under Ringtone & Vibration
- Tap the Music icon and select the file you want to use for ringtones
- Tap Done
Change the Ringtone of a Specific Contact:
NOTE: Custom ringtones cannot be assigned to contacts stored on the phones internal memory or the SIM card.
- Tap Phone on the home screen
- Access the Contacts tab
- Select the desired contact
- Tap Edit shaped like a pencil
- Scroll to and tap the Ringtone drop-down menu
- Select the desired ringtone and tap Done
Change the Notification Sound:
- Go to Settings
- Scroll to Device and tap Sound
- Tap Default notification sound under System
- Select the desired notification sound (NOTE: Newly added notifications will be found at the bottom of the list)
- Tap Done
