Back Up App Data:

  1. Open the apps drawer
  2. Launch “Settings”
  3. Scroll to “Personal” and tap “Backup & reset”
  4. Tap “Backup account” if necessary, and choose, or sign in with an account sync data with

Restore App Data:

  1. Go to “Settings”
  2. Tap “Backup & reset” under “Personal”
  3. Tap “Backup account” and select the account containing the backup
  4. Tap to turn on “Automatic restore”

Turn On Automatic Backup:

  1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
  2. Open “Backup & restore”
  3. Turn on “Automatic Backup”
  4. Tap “Automatic backup” again to set a backup frequency, location, and other details

Back Up Data Manually:

  1. Launch “Backup & restore”
  2. Tap “Manual backup” and select a backup location
  3. Select the type of data you want to back up
  4. Tap “Backup” > “Finish”

Restore Data Manually:

  1. Launch “Backup & restore”
  2. Tap “Restore data” and navigate to where the backup file is located
  3. Select the type of data you want to restore and tap “Restore data”
  4. Tap “Finish”

Back Up Data Using Sony Bridge (Mac) or PC Companion (PC):

  1. On a Mac, visit https://support.sonymobile.com/globa...ridge-for-mac/ and install “Sony Bridge”
  2. On a Windows PC, visit https://support.sonymobile.com/globa.../pc-companion/ and install “PC Companion”
  3. Establish a USB connection between the Xperia Z5 Premium and computer
  4. Launch “PC Companion” or “Sony Bridge”
  5. Inside the app, click ”Start” > “Backup” and follow the on-screen steps to back up the desired data

Restore Data via Sony Bridge (Mac) or PC Companion (PC):

  1. Connect the Xperia Z5 Premium to the computer via USB
  2. Launch “PC Companion” or “Sony Bridge”
  3. In the app, click “Start” > “Restore”
  4. Follow any additional on-screen steps to complete the restore

Back Up Media Files on a Windows Computer:

  1. Connect the Xperia Z5 Premium to your computer via USB
  2. Make sure the phone is connected as a “Media device (MTP)”
  3. Launch an Explorer window on the computer and locate the media files on your phone
  4. Copy the files and transfer them on your computer storage
  5. After the transfer is done, eject the phone storage from the system tray
  6. Safely disconnect the phone from the USB

Restore Media Files from a Windows PC:

  1. Establish a USB connection between the Xperia Z5 Premium and computer
  2. Swipe the “Status” bar down and ensure the phone is connected as a “Media device (MTP)”
  3. Open an Explorer window on the PC and locate the media files backup
  4. Copy the files, and transfer them back on your phone storage
  5. After the transfer is done, eject the phone storage from the system tray
  6. Safely disconnect the phone from the USB connector
