Hi all, thanks for helping me with a simple question. I was not able to find the answer with a search here.

My family has a 3 line Sprint plan, and the third line on our plan has a pretty embarassing old phone that my brother would like to replace. I was under the impression that you could just buy a Sprint phone from ebay or similar, and call them up to activate it, saying you'd lost the old one.

But are there fees for doing this, or other restrictions? Or can you just go and pick any phone available for Sprint service, and do this?

thanks for any info or useful links you can provide!

Why not just get a new phone through Sprint's Upgrade Program? PM me with the phone number & billing zip code and I will tell you what you qualify for....buying used phones is risky because they could be linked to bad accounts making them ineligible for re-activation.

i would recomend not giving either your zip code or phone number to anyone you dont know, go online and they will tell you if your eligible for an upgrade. i would recomend you go to your closest sprint store so they can explain it to you in detail... i can tell you right now though if youve had your phone for more than 2 years... go get yourself a phone for the lowest price.. and if not.. your local sprint rep , im sure will take care of you.. take it from me (A Sprint Rep)
Every body wants to bring the 80's back... thats ok with me thats where they made me at
