The Huawei Express is an affordable phone that was released approximately two months ago as a way for Sprint to capture a lower-priced market. The phone retails for $19.99 with a two-year contract ($249.99 without contract) and provides Sprint an entry-level position in the market. Let's look at the specifications, pros and cons of this phone to see how well it stacks up and whether or not it is right for you.

Pros

This is an extremely thin phone; on par with the Samsung Galaxy Nexus. It resembles a Blackberry or older Palm device with its full-sized QWERTY keyboard but also has a touchscreen for expanded use. It is a very affordable phone and can be used easily by even the most inexperienced cell phone users. The phone comes with the handset, battery, wall charger and USB cable, a 2 GB microSD card and stereo ear-buds.

Cons

The Huawei Express has a small screen, making it difficult to see for those with bad eyes. It is a rather new phone with a small customer base as of yet so finding help with issues can be frustrating; consulting the user manual never hurts. There are several proprietary apps installed by Sprint but some slight tweaks can remove these from the system.

Conclusion

The Huawei Express is a basic phone and should be expected to perform as such. If you are looking for a solid phone that can make/receive calls, texts and emails and can be used for light web browsing/social networking, then this phone will work great for you. Those who are used to the latest in smartphone technology should look somewhere else.
