Unlock Nokia 1600

Got a friend who recently purchased a Nokia 1600 on a Tesco PAYG
tariff ...

Googling tells me this is a DCT4 handset, so should be unlockable
quite easy via some software downloadable to my PC. Is this correct ?
ISTR that there were 'variations' and some DCT4 models were a little
bit trickier to unlock ?
