Hi, I have a kx 414 (phantom) and a kx 434 (rave). The 414 is a verizon phone, the 434 is an alltel phone. I want to turn the rave into a verizon phone. I used kyocera pst and did a transfer, I coppied the kx 414 files and wrote them to the kx 434. After it reset, I changed the startup logo on the 434. Now the phone appears to be a verizon one. However the only thing I cant figure out is how to get the flashlight feature in the kx 434 to work. The kx 434 has an option where you can press and hold the "clr" key, and there is a little flashlight on the side that goes on. When I changed the software from the kx 414 to the 434, of corse the feature stopped working because the 414 does not have a flashlignt.
I took my friends 434, coppied that software, wrote it back to the 434, and as expected, the verizon features are gone (the get it now, ect) but the flashlight once again works.
I want to be able to use the get it now, and the flashlight. I tried looking at gagin to see if theres a directory for the flashlight and could not find one (bitpim does not work with ethere of the two models). I then used kyocera pst and did service programming, hoping I would see an option for flashlight, and I did not (on the 434). The only thing that said flashlight was under the "shortcut" key, on the kx 434 the default option was "
brew". However there was an option to change it to flashlight. Since "
brew" was selected as default, but the flashlight still worked, I assume that is not the option I am looking for. I checked the kx 414 to see what this field was set to, and it was set as "empty".
So I need to ethere copy all the kx 414 files to the 434 and somehow enable the flashlight, or keep the 434 file structure as it is, but modify it so "get it now" works.
Does anyone have any sugestions? I saved both QCN files, incase someone has any idea how I can get this done. I really appreciate any advice anyone has, thanks
