kyocera slider. light wont shut off

Hi everyone. My hubby was doing some work and dropped his cell in the water. it dried out and it makes and recieves calls but the screen light will not go out. stays on all the time even when phone is on. can anyone help or should we just get a new phone?

Chances are that if you tried to turn the phone on before letting it completey dry out, it's already messed up. Corrosion will eventually kill it. Might as well buy a new one now.
