Back Up Applications:

  1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
  2. Go to “Settings”
  3. Swipe to “Personal” and tap “Backup and reset”
  4. To proceed you must be logged in to a Google account. If necessary, tap “Backup account” > “Add account” and follow the on-screen prompts
  5. To save account data, Wi-Fi passwords and other settings to your Google account, enable “Back up my data”
  6. To restore backed up settings and data when re-installing apps, enable “Automatic restore”

NOTE: Apps and app data will be automatically restored once you register your Google account on your phone (say, after a factory reset).

Back Up Contacts on a Google Account:

  1. Tap “Apps” and go to “Settings”
  2. Tap “Accounts” and sign in to your Google account. If necessary, tap “Add account” and follow the on-screen steps
  3. Select the desired account and tap your email address
  4. Enable the “Contacts” switch
  5. Tap “Menu” > “Sync now”

NOTE: Contacts will be automatically restored when you register your Google account on the phone

Back Up Contacts on the SD Card:

  1. Launch the “Contacts” app
  2. Tap “Menu” > "Import / Export”
  3. Tap “Export to SD card”
  4. Tap “OK” after the phone provides the storage directory and file name, or browse for a different location

Back Up Media Files

Using Your Phone:

  1. Tap “Apps”
  2. Launch “Photos”
    • In case this is the first time accessing “Photos”, tap “Sign in”, follow the on-screen steps, and choose to back up data over Wi-Fi only or over Wi-Fi + mobile networks. Then tap “Turn on”
    • If this isn’t the first time opening “Photos”, tap “Menu” > “Settings” > “Auto Backup” and tap the switch at the top to enable the option

Using a Windows Computer:

  1. Establish a USB connection between your Kyocera phone and computer
  2. Swipe the “Status” bar down and tap “Touch for other USB options” > “Media device (MTP)”
  3. In the AutoPlay window on the computer, select to open and view files
  4. Browse for the desired media files and copy them
  5. Paste the files in the desired location on your computer’s HDD
  6. After the transfer is done, click the “Mass Storage Device” icon in the system tray and eject the phone storage
  7. You can now disconnect the phone from the computer

Using a Mac:

  1. Open the Internet browser on the Mac and visit https://www.android.com/filetransfer/
  2. Open “androidfiletransfer.dmg”
  3. Drag “Android File Transfer” to “Applications”
  4. Connect the phone to your Mac via USB
  5. On the phone, swipe the “Status” bar down and enable “Media Sync (MTP)”
  6. On the Mac, double-click “Android File Transfer”
  7. Browse the desired media files on your phone, then drag > drop to transfer
