Well, if I were you I'd just forget about using bitpim. I used it for a while with my old phone, but it's incompatible with my new phone and I don't really miss it. Hacking the phone would void your warranties, and there's a good chance of completely screwing up the phone when you mess with its firmware. I don't know anything about phone hacking, but I know it's not worth messing up my phone to be able to use bitpim... sorry.
