#1 | | Newbie | So I can put music onto my chocolate and all is great, but is there any way to make the songs I have sync'd onto my chocolate a ringtone for when people call?
Thanks ahead of time.

Yes, you need to put your contacts into groups and then you can assign a different ringtone to each group. I don't think you can assign tones to specific contacts.

#5 | | I hate spammers! | No, you can not make the MP3 files on your phone or on your your microSD card work as ringtones on your Chocolate. However, with a USB cable and a little program called BitPim, you can add your own ringtones very easily. There is a tutorial somewhere in this forum, just do a search.

Can you think of a better way to generate interest in an absolutely beautiful, feature loaded "candy bar" form factor phone?

#8 | | Member | Paul. I've loaded many MP3's as ringtones on my Chocolate?! I just plug it to my PC with data cable, it comes up as a flash drive and then I load it into my music folder. Then on my phone I select the mp3 and choose set as ringtone. Easy as that!

Are you sure you're not using BitPim? Or some other software application? I would be interested to know.

Sorry only noticed now that you have a Razr and not a Chocolate. The Chocolate comes up as a flash drive... sorry for the confusion!

MtraX | I have both, that is why I post on the LG forum.

#12 | | Member | I have loads of real songs as ringtones. They are not mp3's, but they sound just as good.
Search for a program called bitpim and you can load mp3's in there and it will convert them to the proper format and there you go!!!
It takes just a short time to convert a song, it sounds just as good as an mp3, but it is MUCH MUCH smaller. You can set the length of the song too and you only need 30 seconds of a song to be a ringtone so I have about 100 song clip tones and some full songs that all fit just on the internal memory of my chocolate phone.

#13 | | Member | Paul, thanx for clarifying :-) Aaron, yeah if you convert it to mono from stereo you already save 50% in file size, then if you change to 22kHz from 44kHz, same story etc etc. It's best playing around with the settings to see what sounds best on your phone. Further you can also get some good results by implementing some EQ filters to make sure the bands you're using are sounding at their best on your phone.
