hey all. i just got a new lg chocolate for christmas and i was playing around with it before activation and locked my phone.. just for the heck of it. dumb move.. cause now my phone currently has no number. and therefore has no unlock code. pretty much sucks. does any one have ANY ideas.. the manual says to enter the last four digits of the ESN DEC code and i have no clue where to find it. please help me.
well, the ESN code would be found in the options, but you cant get there, you would probably have to get it activated so you can get a number, have you tried 0000?
yeah. ive tried pretty much all the common sense combos. 0000 1234 4321 1111 2222 3333 4444 5555 6666 7777 8888 9999 .. so yeah i guess im screwed. yeah? hah
Well, another option, is that you can go through all 4 digit numbers, if you really want to use it, just type 0001, then 0002, then 0003 and so on, it worked for me, but it took me about 6 hours. good luck
The ESN code should be found in the battery compartment. The string of numbers you want will be 11 digits long (all numeric, probably starting with "0"). If you can not find it that way, and it is a Verizon Chocolate, just dial: *228, (send), option 1. That will unlock the phone and activate it for you. You can still dial the activation series through the lock.
