This is for peeps who when using
BITPIM get an
EMPTY "
nvm" folder but will also help those having problems with
BITPIM seeing the phone...
Keep in mind I used
BLUETOOTH not a
USB CABLE but I'm sure it would work for both.
Programs I used:
BITPIM BlueSoleil
(I would have made these
LINKS to the appropiate web site but I'm not allowed to do that just yet ..

)
I did this on a
WinXP system using a
Mr.HandsFree Blue Dongle II Install the
BlueSoleil software
Setup your
Dongle on your
PC
Once you have
Bluetooth enabled on your
PC pair your phone using
BlueSoleil Double click your phone in the
BlueSoleil window it will highlight the
Services available Right-click the
Serial Port Service and
connect
Once you are connected and
BlueSoleil is
bright green in the taskbar you can "
x" out the
BlueSoleil window
Now install
BITPIM
Make sure your phone is
paired and connected to your PC via
Bluetooth and you have the Serial Port Service connected
Open
BITPIM ( I'm using Ver.1.0.6 official)
Goto
EDIT>SETTINGS
Make sure the
Port is correct
I think the default is
COM5
In the
BlueSoleil Service Window the
Serial Port icon will display which serial port it is using
Now choose your phone >
LG VX8600 in the dropdown box (or whatever model your phone is)
Now on the left side
click the 1st little phone "
Get Phone DATA"
When the box pops up put a checkmark in the "
Phonebook" box then click
OK
An
Exception Error box will popup...
READ THE ERROR...you will see several trys to access the data as well as which phone...now that you see which phone they THINK you have ,(mine was the 8100 )
go back to
EDIT>SETTINGS and reset your phone to the
LG-VX8100 Click OK and now highlight
FILE SYSTEM on the left ,a folder with a
"+" sign will appear on the right in a column .. click the
"+" sign..it will retreive the
PHONE DATA and all the
DIRECTORIES will appear under the folder.
Hope this helps
