lg chocolate 8600 problem

Hi:

Can anyone help me with this problem?

I accidently put my lg chocolate 8600 flip phone through the washing machine. The phone works fine in every respect except that no one can hear me when I speak into it. The repair people suggest to get another phone and say that the repair will be too costly to be worth it. Since I am about to scrap the phone anyway, I wondered if anyone out would know if there is an easy solution to fix the phone.
